About the club
Nestled against a pristine lake just outside Mobile, Steelwood was designed by 1976 U.S. Open champion Jerry Pate. Despite the flat topography of the region, Pate created numerous elevation changes and fairway undulations to challenge players. The course opens with several holes along Steelwood Lake and then heads into a more heavily wooded area before returning to the lakeside to close.

Steelwood is pure magic. World-class golf, stunning lake views, and total peace behind the gates. The course is flawless, the food is incredible, and the community feels like family. Steelwood Country Club is a breathtaking wedding venue! There are so many stunning spots for photos, from the charming little white chapel to the picturesque waterfront lawn and scenic dock. The variety of backdrops made capturing special moments effortless and beautiful.
