Sawgrass Country Club
About the club
Sawgrass Country Club was established in 1974 and was the original host of the TPC (Tournament Players Championship) from 1977 to 1981. Ed Seay, former president of Palmer Course Design Company, was the creator of this particular 27-hole layout, which initially put Sawgrass on the map of top-tier golfing destinations. Sawgrass Country Club is a private, member-owned golf club. It has limited outside play, usually restricted to guests of members or as part of exclusive golf packages.
