We spent about 10 days at Fairmont Grand Del Mar in late January/early February with our family, and it was truly one of the best vacations we have ever had. The resort and grounds are exceptionally maintained, the rooms were pristine, and we felt pampered from the moment we arrived. What stood out most was the staff. The level of attention to our family was unbelievable. Everything we asked for was handled immediately and with genuine care. Our daughter was celebrating her 7th birthday, and they truly made it special for her in ways we won’t forget. A special thank you to Dylan and Neil at the front desk and Jose Sanchez from room service. Also, the family pool staff was consistently attentive and provided wonderful service. We can’t wait to return in the spring. Thank you for an incredible stay! D + T + E 😊

Had an incredible couples weekend. Shout out to Michelle in reservations who brilliantly helped us coordinate several rooms; she’s really good. Loved the spa; massage therapists are so next level. Adult pool is tranquil and the team there were so accommodating and professional. Lobby bar is cool and the burger is stupendous.

We stayed at the Fairmont Del Mar with my husband and our toddler for Christmas, and we had the best time. The property is one of the most beautiful we've stayed at, the atmosphere for Christmas was fantastic, and our baby really loved the wonderful decor and seeing Santa around the hotel throughout our stay. The only thing we have to say is that our room was not ready when we arrived - which is fine because we were a little early - but after over one hour of trying to kill time in the lobby with our baby, an employee at the reception checked on the status and the room had been ready for a while. It is too bad the person who initially checked us in did not update us, as our toddler began to become hungry and tired. Other than that, we had a fantastic time and would love to come again.

Dear Management Team at Fairmont Grand Del Mar, We had organized a family vacation during Christmas at your property, which is marketed and priced as a five-star luxury hotel offering exceptional amenities and service. Unfortunately, our experience fell significantly short of those expectations. During our stay, a VIP guest was present at the hotel. Their presence resulted in substantial disruption to regular hotel operations, including Secret Service and police personnel taking over large portions of the premises. Several other guests we spoke with shared similar concerns regarding the impact this had on their stay. The majority of the hotel staff appeared to be reassigned to attend exclusively to the VIP guest. As a result, paying hotel guests were deprived of the level of service that is expected—and paid for—at a five-star property. Specifically: Guest rooms were not serviced in a timely manner Restaurants were visibly understaffed, resulting in long wait times and poor service Courtesy and attentiveness from staff were largely absent In short, the hotel was not equipped to accommodate a VIP guest of this level while simultaneously maintaining appropriate service standards for its other guests. The service provided during our stay did not align with the premium rates charged or with Fairmont’s advertised standards of luxury and hospitality. We are deeply disappointed, as this vacation was planned as a special family holiday. We hope Fairmont will acknowledge this lapse in service and address how such situations will be managed in the future to ensure that all guests receive the experience they are promised. We would appreciate your review of this matter and look forward to your response. Sincerely, Chandra Kannan

The staff is very professional and focused on customer service. The familiar response to requests was "my pleasure" I think that says it all. Restaurants bring many options as well as the bars. Fireplaces provide a warm and cozy opportunity to relax. The spa, golf an other facilities are nothing short o f fabulous. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Very clean and accommodating. We'll be back.
