Tucked away in La Quinta, California, this Tom Weiskopf design opened in 1996 and stretches out to around 7,164 yards, Par 72 from the tips. Weiskopf was known for blending challenge with playability, and you feel that here—wide landing areas paired with tricky green complexes and bold bunkering that make you think twice on approach shots. The course has a desert-style layout with gorgeous mountain backdrops and subtle elevation changes. It’s private, so you need a connection to get on, but once you’re out there, it feels pure and strategic without being overly punishing. Signature holes? The short par-4s are a treat, especially the ones that tempt you off the tee. Overall, it’s classic Weiskopf: fair but demanding, with a nice rhythm and that “just one more round” vibe. If you ever get the invite—go.

Great course with amazing upkeep. A good mix of wide open fairways, water, and bunkers.

Great experience playing PGA West. Course played great, easier than the others. Bucket list golf facility!

Played this course immediately after playing the Jack Nicklaus Tournament course. Not even in the same ballpark! Fairways were OK, greens better than average. Speed of play was horrible! Took 5 hours for my partner and I, with waits at every shot and tee box. This course is extremely tough, with hardly any holes without water. Not for the faint-hearted. Would definitely suggest higher handicap golfers avoid unless you have extra golf balls at your disposal. And as usual, I'm not impressed with Pete Dye courses. Cookie cutter layout like all his courses (too many railway ties, sand traps, moguled fairways, etc.)
