I played the North course and would give 3.5 stars. To start, the pro-shop staff were super nice and friendly. The shop itself was large and well stocked. Getting checked-in was easy, and I appreciated the grab boxes with tees and a course guide book.I was asked to put a bright orange GUEST bag tag on my bag. Are members allowed to do more where a guest can’t and Marshalls need to watch more? I would have a huge problem if my club made guests do this! Also, I’ve played lots of CC golf and never had to pay for range balls, which I did here. This was another definite turn-off. The rage and putting green were adequate and allowed for me to warm-up before the first tee. The course was really wet, which given the recent weather, I get. Balls would plug, almost fried-egg, in the fairway, but again, given the recent weather, there isn’t anything that could be done. The layout of the course was really cool and definitely challenging. Greens were in good shape, rolled nice, and had some tough reads. Pace of play was perfect, and no holes felt the same. A couple things I didn’t care for were bunkers that appeared to not have been manicured, or even cared for, in awhile, and a hole that was completely closed, that I wasn’t forewarned about. I get the weather may make it tough to keep the bunkers raked and nice, but some had grass growing in them and the edges were not good. The closed hole looked like a sink-hole happened or something. Had I been told ahead of time, I would have played the South course instead. I enjoyed my round and time here. There were things I wish were different, and expected to be different, given the history of this club. I would consider returning to play again in the Spring or Summer, and maybe those things that were bothersome will be better.
