Some good, some bad. Ryan in the clubhouse is a great guy, real helpful. Unfortunately, he disrespected the Dufresne family name. Also, my buddy got stuck in a sinkhole on 15 and I haven't seen him since. I also tried to get my JV team out for a practice round, but apparently it's "trespassing" to hit a few balls after dark (even though there was no one there). The golf course was beautiful. I shot a 109 the first time, and I was on pace for a 71 the second time, but thats when the sinkhole fiasco went down. Unfortunately, there was nowhere to store my 24 pack of Busch light in the cart. I had to use my Civic as a golf cart - which looking back on it probably led to the sinkhole. The ranger was super stingy about the tire tracks but I think it's the grounds keeper's fault. Anyway, I can't wait to come back once they lift my restraining order!! Sincerely, John Dufresne Leader of the Jabahari Hut

Riviera Country Club is one of those courses you never forget once you’ve played it. From the moment I walked in, I could feel the history, but it didn’t feel stuffy or over the top—just a place that knows how special it is. The routing feels natural, like every hole was meant to be there. Some holes make you think, others tempt you to take risks, and a few just make you stop and admire the view. The fairways are tight in spots, and that kikuyu grass really makes you pay attention to every shot. The par 3s stand out—especially the one with the bunker right in the middle of the green. And then there’s the short par 4 10th… I could play that hole all day and never get tired of it. The 18th is the perfect finishing hole, heading uphill toward the clubhouse, where you can imagine all the big moments in tournament history. It’s not an easy course by any means, but it’s fair. Every time I finished a round here, I just wanted to go back out and do it again. If you ever get the chance to play Riviera, take it. It’s one of those rare places where you walk off the 18th green already planning your next round.

I have never played this course, only visited when attending the Genesis Open. This is a beautiful course to walk with very little strenuous hills aside from the ones to get to and from the club house. We typically purchase General Admission with club house access as that gives you access to nice bathrooms. More recently we had backlot tickets on 18 which gave us an amazing view above the 18th green. These came with an open bar, food and private bathrooms. These amenities alone make it worth the purchase price - however we still spent the majority of the day walking between the t-boxes and greens on: 4, 5, 6, 15, 16 and 17 which we do with the General Admission tickets as well. These holes are all close together so you will see plenty of action and most groups playing. GA is much more moderately priced and you’ll see all of the amenities action just with a couple less amenities.

My wife and I photographed a wedding here recently and loved our experience. The venue really lends itself to beautiful imagery and a fun party, as it's indoor so there are less noise restrictions. There are many areas on the property, cocktail hour on the outdoor veranda at sunset was really beautiful. The ballroom is stunning. Hoping we can come back again soon!
