First of all the island. Saugatuck is a very private place to have a yacht club. On top of that, the scenery is beautiful. In the CPYC Junior Sailing it is top notch. Instructor's are seriously the best. Lastly, the clubhouse is very practical with a snack bar with very good food or having dessert.

Nice yachting clubhouse on a private island. Great place to moor your boat, meet friends, have some refreshments and a snack in the upstairs public room with a great view. Members and guests only.

What a wonderful, private, serene spot. Can’t wait to go back….

The best sailing and sailboat racing club in CT. Welcoming people, regular racing for both big and small boats, located in a gorgeous setting.

Cedar Point Yacht Club is one of the finest adult and Jr. Sailing clubs on Long Island sound - it has had and produced many national sailing champions. I was fortunate to go through the 1960s youth race sailing program - When Russ Jones was an instructor - we learned excellent sailing methods but more importantly - we learned sportsmanship. I was fortunate to learn advanced racing from club member - Linda Jager - who went on to become North America Women's Champion - and this was a time when Ted Fontelieu was National Thistles Champion - Jim Allen was National Lightening Champion and we also had the Atlantic National Champion - - as well as many Novice, Midget and junior sailing champs. From the age of 12 - my brother, Jim Blair - a brilliant sailer - was often club champion - over even the national champion adults. I have to confess that I hated the Frostbting program - back in the sixties we were still at the orginal location at Compo Beach at the Compo Boat basin - - the adult dads would have more in their hot chocolate than we children had - and the tears from the cold - - and no washrooms as we children were forced to be ballast in the leaking, cold super sprites was NOT fun! Hopefully this has advanced to an adult only winter fun activity - The sailing around the sound near Cedar Point is phenomenal - and the adult and Junior weekend race programs go all summer long - every weekend. This is a great club now and historically - and the new (from 1966) location in Saugatuck Shores is beautiful
