Solid track, the new clubhouse renovations are sweet though. The 1st, 3rd, 8th, 10th, 15th and 18th holes are standouts. The greens are fast and the sand traps are pure.

Played an 18 Hole tournament today with the CT Am Tour. Course was very good, very playable. I have played there in the past, it is a great golf course, as expected. Problem: It was an 85F deg day, lots of sun, no water anywhere on the course. Every watering station was empty. Not empty of water, empty of any signs there was ever water offered. To be clear, it wasn't that they ran out of water, they never put any out, anywhere, period. I asked the beverage cart operator why there was no water, she said "they know"; and I could by water from her for $4. I'm not cheap, and I did buy water from her throughout the 5 hours I was on the course; but as every golfer knows, knowingly having all the watering stations empty, in the summer heat, is unacceptable, irresponsible, and just plain stupid. I wonder what they would tell the judge presiding over the law suit from one of us older golfers falling over from heat stroke- "Your honor, we offered water 3 times throughout the day for $4 a taste"? If I am wrong or missing something on the reasoning for the lack of any water at any watering station, anywhere on the course; I ask Stonington CC management to please reply here and explain themselves. The only explanation I received today was management was aware that no water was put out on the course, but water was available from the beverage cart for $4 a pop. Rich

I enjoy the golf course layout and course condition. Most of all I can use the driving range, chipping, and putting area before going out and playing just a few holes on my own or rounds with friends. Really friendly club where you can walk and play.

As a member now for 2 years we couldn't be more pleased. The course is beautiful, interesting and always in great condition. Ready golf means no need for tee times, just come and play, when we joined I wasn't sure how this would work but it does and it works well. The membership is friendly and welcoming. I recommend it highly.
