We were very pleased with our recent stay at Cheeca! We were there for nearly a week--the rooms were spacious, spotless, and well-appointed. The restaurants served excellent food, and the staff was unfailingly polite and helpful. We had one issue with our room, and the hotel immediately made it right. We would definitely go back again!

Never again. We have been here several years in a row and sadly this is the last time. The place is clearly no longer being maintained. The toilet in our bathroom is crooked and the outline of the previous toilet is clearly visible on the floor. Only one bolt is in place securing it to the floor and both bolt attachments are exposed. Gross. The elevator is out of order. The garbage disposal was out of order and the sink wouldn’t drain. Oh. And icing on the cake there was an incredibly loud wedding party outside our suite, with no warning to the other paying guests. This is supposed to be a family resort but our 7 year old couldn’t sleep. They should have informed us at check in, or even better, when we made our reservations! We would have made other arrangements. For the price you pay here, you can do better elsewhere.

Second time here and we will be back. Tyanna checked us in with a great attitude and smile and it was only uphill from there. Davian was our server on one of the restaurants at the captains table and she did such a great job. We also got to meet Aduke who was our daily room attendant and she was so lovely and nice and always made sure I had enough coffee pods! I love this place and can't wait to come back.

Stayed here for 7 nights (across 4 suites and 1 Casita) with my entire extended family (19 people). Overall the property is nice and there are lots of activities. The large dock is wonderful. There were many issues with the hotel though and it was certainly not up to par with what you'd expect given the price (~$2K per night for the suites plus an outrageous ~$300 per day resort fee). The service across the hotel was extremely slow. Everything from ordering drinks at the bar, ordering food (at the restaurants or room service) was very, very slow. They also, for some reason, only have basic cable at all of the TVs across the hotel so had almost no NFL games on at any of the TVs, which seems ridiculous for a hotel in America at these prices. The quality of the food was pretty sub-standard, with some exceptions. The service and quality of food across the street at both Pierre's and the Morada Bay (same ownership) was significantly better. The rooms overall were fine but certainly nothing to write home about. One of the beds in my parents ~$4K per night Casita was broken which, again, for the price seems pretty ridiculous. The hotel was also not very stroller friendly as the majority of the pathways are sand or thick gravel which is pretty difficult for strollers. Overall, a decent hotel and nice property but definitely not worth the price.

My husband and I recently spent three nights at Cheeca Resort in Isla Morada, and overall, it was a beautiful and relaxing stay. Check-in was smooth, and the receptionist was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, and the oceanfront view was absolutely gorgeous. We paid to upgrade to an ocean view with a private jacuzzi tub, and we’re so glad we did—it truly elevated the experience. The water sports staff were fantastic and very helpful, providing paddleboards so we could explore and enjoy the stunning property from the water. We also dined at all of the restaurants on-site. While the food was decent overall, it lacked flavor in some dishes—the pasta, in particular, was quite bland. That said, the service at every restaurant was exceptional. The staff consistently went out of their way to make us feel welcome and taken care of, which made a big difference. Unfortunately, our only negative experience was with a manager on duty. On our second day, I asked her where the hammocks on the property were located so I could relax and read. She quietly laughed at me and said, “I have been managing here for ten years and we do not have any hammocks.” I was confused, as there are multiple photos of hammocks on both the resort’s website and current Instagram page. When I tried to show her the photos, she turned away and brushed me off. The interaction made me feel dismissed and as though I wasn’t valued as a guest. It’s a shame, because aside from this interaction, the resort staff truly made the stay enjoyable. Cheeca is a beautiful property with many wonderful employees, and with a bit more consistency in guest service at the management level, it could be an exceptional experience.
