Great Waters at Lake Oconee is an absolute dream for a wedding day. The lakeside setting is stunning, with the most breathtaking sunset views from the dock! I photographed a summer wedding and everything went so smoothly! A truly stunning location.

Great Waters - Beautiful Course, Shame About the Service Great Waters easily lives up to the hype. The course itself is fantastic. Since the renovation, the layout is even better, with stunning lake views and challenging holes for all skill levels. In my opinion it's undeniably the best course at Reynolds Plantation. However, the experience was severely tarnished by the staff. Right from the start, the first tee starter was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Cursing several times about simple asks about getting an additional score card, followed by telling our group that we couldn't take a group photo to commemorate the moment (We were 10 minutes early to the tee box to ensure we didn't slow anyone down) His terrible attitude definitely put a damper on what should have been a memory making round. For the price point, you expect top-notch service throughout, some friendliness and professionalism would go a long way. We did have some better interactions with other staff members which were much more pleasant but the starter got things off to a very poor start. Would also work with the beverage cart employees on customer service, they were rude, curt, and groups were told she would only accept one transaction per foursome and it was on us to figure out the splitting payments on the back end. I noticed a very big difference in the way Members were treated versus guests coming in for the day, as a member at my own club in FL I would have been extremely disappointed if this was how the staff showcased our course. I would recommend the course itself, but with serious reservations because of the staff.

I love Jack but he is evil with his greens especially on the back nine lol very thin to hit into, tons of water, have to be dead on with your numbers but usually some room left and right. However, he built one of the most beautiful back 9s I've ever played. Course is in incredible shape even for August which the sweltering heat and humidity was the only thing that took away from this experience. Staff friendly, good pace of play, had boats posted up on the 2 par 3 water holes which added some more thrill. Hit a good shot and they will cheer for you! Don't, they'll most likely boo but it's all in good fun. Can't wait to come back when the Reserve and Oconee are back open.

Beautiful course that is as beautiful as a great resort course, but has the challenges you expect out of a Jack Nicklaus design.

Great Waters at Reynolds Lake Oconee just reopened after complete renovation by Jack Nicklaus. Pristine condition, every hole is a joy to play. One of Jack's very best.
