Beautiful old style country club..

We just enjoyed the Valentines Day dinner in the new Table 1926 restaurant. Fantastic! The appetizers, soups, salads and tomahawk steak out ranked a recent meal at Chicago’s Smith and Wollensky’s Steak house on the Chicago river and it was much more reasonably priced ( that last part was added by my husband!)

Beautiful place, but HORRIBLE experience using them as a venue for our wedding. They made empty promises when booking, then after nonrefundable deposit was put down at the next consult things were changed. We were initially told they would give us the Friday night before our wedding to decorate.. then that changed to “we can’t do that because we do banquets so IF someone (which no one had) booked it we have to have it open.” Then I was told $50 for the room to get ready in initially… that somehow changed to $100 at the next consultation. Then a $75 “dessert fee” all of a sudden for bringing in a wedding cake/cupcakes.. which they don’t offer for purchase & we did NOT have them served by staff. The morning of my wedding they had booked a baby shower on the same floor, normally not an issue but the people hosting kept barging into the room we were getting ready in, turned the lights off on us, & were touching my flowers/decor thinking it was theirs… no staff around to help or stop it from happening/assist them. Not to mention, we did buffet style for dinner & it was still $27 a plate for one of the cheapest options… & the food was not good. Lighting inside is horrible for pictures as well. Bartenders were great tho the night of. After arguing w the office staff, (which I HATE to do & had never done before after working w the public for years) we were able to get the room to get ready in for free & they didn’t end up booking anything the Friday before so we did get to come in early to decorate. But to change things after a deposit was made is extremely unprofessional & unfair, especially for something as big/special & expensive as a wedding. If our deposit wasn’t nonrefundable, we would’ve walked away & chose a different venue.

I was there a few weeks ago during the Memorial Day weekend. I helped decorate for my nieces event. Facility was great for event, easy to get to, the few employees I interacted with were very kind. Unfortunately, I am so disappointed that during the decorating and having to go back and forth to and from the venue, suddenly my white Beats pill suddenly disappeared. I attempted to call right away and was told to contact someone else. When I finally did speak to the "right person," I explained the situation, and she reassured me that she would look into it and get back to me. Sadly, she never called back. People never fail to disappoint. While I'm not upset at the loss of my item,[im sure whomever found it has a better need] I am disappointed of the lack of respect. No one should have touched our items as they knew we were there setting up for hours. I do not plan on giving them my business again nor recommending them.

Great place to hold your event! You don’t even have to be a member. Room rental price is the cheapest in town. Very clean and AMAZING food!
