Onwentsia Club is a private, members only club in Lake Forest. It offers a range of amenities and recreational activities for its members. The club boasts a beautiful golf course, perfect for avid golfers looking to improve their game. Additionally, there are tennis courts available for those who prefer a more fast-paced and competitive sport. The club also has a swimming pool and fitness center, providing opportunities for members to stay active and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Amazing restoration work on this wonderful course. I hadn’t seen it since the restoration. Vistas run all the way from the clubhouse porch to the western boundary of the property. Greens are FABULOUS! Fun, fair and (occasionally) frustrating if you find yourself in the wrong place to the wrong pin. Nifty bunkering. Closely mown areas were perfect. Clubhouse and overall feel are perfection. The only thing I wonder about is why they leave the thick native grass (ie, guaranteed lost ball) all over the property, instead of burning it all and starting over with a thinner, whisper fescue where the ball can be found and perhaps played if the lie is good enough. This native grass is so thick it might as well be a water hazard because there’s no chance of recovery. This should be a one or two balls per round course. If you get it going sideways, it can be 2 sleeves. Turn that thick stuff into playable fescue and Onwentsia is a 10 out of 10. All the other amenities and the service and clubhouse and overall feel are already 10 out of 10. Just my 2 cents.

I was in town visiting my cousin, and he was playing in a squash tournament. It was wonderful experience getting to watch them play, and both staff and facilities were top notch.

Excellent country club for golfing. The staff there are polite and attentive especially the bartenders who make excellent drinks. One thing that makes this country different is that they have live concerts of upcoming artist another thing to mention the club itself is beautiful worth the price of membership!
