Dockside Yacht Club

Definitely a hidden gem on the Chesapeake Bay. After hearing about it from sailing friends last year, we visited the Chesapeake Yacht Club while searching for a safe place with floating docks to keep our sailboat during hurricane season. We immediately knew this was the place for us. It offers the perfect balance of serene, beautiful views and a vibrant community with a very active social calendar and fabulous meals. The members are so friendly and genuine, and the staff is truly exceptional—they go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. Highly recommend.

The Chesapeake Yacht Club (CYC) is a wonderful, friendly maritime club within the Chesapeake West River community that has been in continuous operation for over 75 years. As a member for 4 years, my husband and I have been impressed with the welcoming culture of the CYC members and the quality of the daily operations performed by club staff. Each year, the club seems to get better! There are countless activities for both boaters and non-boaters. The dining, food offerings and special events are awesome. The overall leadership and governance structure is led by dedicated volunteers, who genuinely respond to suggestions and interests of the members and their guests. Overall, the Chesapeake Yacht Club has a wonderfully friendly culture, provides quality services well-experienced in the operations of a yacht club. It is located mid-Bay, close to the Baltimore, Annapolis, Washington, D.C. areas; and within an easy drive from Philadelphia, Delaware and the Maryland Eastern Shore.

Love CYC. 23 years ago we didn’t think we were “yacht club” (stuffy) people. One visit and we were hooked. Not stuffy at all! We love the freedom to be completely on our own to hang out at CYC, cruise alone or with groups and participate in activities. We’ve made friends for life. The location is great for cruising anywhere on the bay. The grounds are beautiful, secure and well maintained. The cost is reasonable. The casual and fine dining options are beyond compare. Come visit and be prepared to fall in love.

Once we found this yacht club, we felt right at home! The commodore and members were extremely welcoming and the community feel exceeded our expectations. The facilities are SO clean, the staff is so eager to please! Dogs are welcome; the pool is so fun, and we continue to make life-long friends! Not to mention the beautiful grounds!

Experienced as a guest from Fl. Beautiful establishment, we enjoyed the pool and cornhole boards. Also, we were able to even take a lovely nap in the hammock swing. The staff was very helpful and happy to assist with anything. The food was hot and yummy. Nice welcoming feeling is always a plus. Ty. The grounds were kept up ✨️
