Million dollar views and very friendly people. Love the family friendly events and the Commodore's Club where club members can dine waterfront on the weekends and escape the more touristy locations in the Narrows. Great drink prices and who doesn't love a waterfront tiki bar during the summer?

The service at the pool bar is a disgrace. You are given no napkins, utensils, or condiments when your food is brought out. I went up to the bar to ask for napkins, they didn’t have any. I was told they had to get them from inside. I came back up after my meal to ask again, they forgot to ask. I ended up using paper towels I had in my car. There is no drink menu and when you ask the bartender they are not knowledgeable enough to give you an answer. The bartender said everything you can see. Then I saw the other bartender stocking canned beverages so I said I’d like to know what drinks you have in your coolers. Again, a poor answer of ‘beer and other stuff’. That is when I realized it wasn’t worth the effort. I settled for a mixed drink that was all juice. It is safe to assume that these workers need proper training and I blame their leadership at this facility. On another visit, the bar was closed, which means no drinks or food. You are prohibited from bringing outside food or drinks which is understandable if your bar is open during pool hours. The amount for a membership and the no outside food/drink rule even when the bar is closed is not justifiable.

I cruised here on my "new to me Antique Hatteras". Depending on arrival time, there can be a significant current flowing through this area. Upon seeing my difficulty in getting into my assigned slip, the Vice Commodore offered help. I pulled up to an outer pier and Jeff expertly took the helm (at my request) and put the boat in my assigned slip without issue. He even helped me tie-off in the slip. Bonus-I learned a new tecnnique for docking in a fast current. The KIYC has a lovely pool and clean bathrooms and showers. I was there for the classic car and boat show. Thanks to KIYC for being so helpful and accommodating.

We attended the Classic Auto show at the Kent Island Yacht Club this past weekend. The KIYC members/staff were all lovely, very friendly and the club is clean and beautiful. The grounds were very nice and plenty of parking. I gave 4 stars because of the car show. We paid $30 each ($60 total) and the show was disappointing. Yes, there were plenty of classic cars and the waterfront location was stunning, but the price tag did not include any raffles, drink tickets or goodies that would support the $30 per person cost. There are much larger auto shows (Mikey & Mel's in Fulton, for ex) that are free and have 3x as many vehicles. We felt duped and disappointed to spend $60 for about 40 vehicles and zero guest offerings.

We attended Jazz on the Narrows this past weekend. I absolutely made sue I said this to any "staff" from the club (members, really) what a beautiful property they had, it was kept clean and everyone was so helpful. They did an awesome job all 3 days. The combination of the property and the event itself was extraordinary. Thank you so much!!
