About the club

Hazeltine National Golf Club was established in 1962 by former USGA President Totton P. Heffelfinger. The course was specifically designed to host major championships, becoming one of the few courses purpose-built for this goal. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the original layout, with his son Rees Jones later making significant modifications in preparation for major tournaments.
