About Yacht Clubs

A yacht club combines a working waterfront with a social one: slips or moorings, a racing calendar, sail training, and a clubhouse where much of the year happens ashore. Most are member-owned and admit newcomers by sponsorship, usually a proposer and a seconder drawn from current members, with waitlists common at established clubs. Reciprocity is a real benefit here; members visiting other ports can often use affiliated clubs' docks and dining rooms.
