Was there for a retirement, food was excellent and service was top notch.

We had our daughter's wedding ceremony and reception at the Erie Yacht Club and it could not have been a more perfect dream come true. Our decorations were arranged even better than I had planned, the food was delicious and the wait staff was friendly, helpful and obviously well trained. The venue is gorgeous. Plus the banquet manager Elizabeth Dougan is wonderful to work with. She is so organized and attentive to every need. What a fantastic place for a wedding.

Beautiful facility but not organized. Food buffet was set up downstairs when 1/2 the people attending use a walker, cane or just can't do stairs. Not enough staff to help these people. Ran out of food & soup & had to stand too long waiting. By the time they came with item ran out of people were like vultures. Ran out of dessert so many people did't get. Noticed someone picked out an entire plate of beef out of the beef & noodles then threw 1/2 of it out. People filled their plates & couldn't eat all so tossed out. Next time I'd have staff dish you a serving of what you want & once everyone served if there is food left you can go back for seconds.

The Erie Yacht Club may be one of Erie’s best-kept secrets! I recently met up with friends for dinner, cocktail, and what turned out to be an unforgettable evening. We all thought our food was excellent, our server was great, and the atmosphere—right on the bay—is absolutely unbeatable. The Yacht Club offers one of the best front-row seats in town for a breathtaking sunset.

I would say it deserves a 5 if the weather was good all year long. The bay is a good place to sail. The wide channel out of the bay goes to Lake Erie and is connected to the world. Lake Erie can be a great place to start an adventure. No salt, no jellyfish, sharks, alligators or other wild life in the water that can challenge your day. Fresh water has a few advantages. You can find some warm days in the summer and find the beginning of fall to be crisp. It's nice to enjoy the weather as it changes with the seasons. The lighthouse on the state park is interesting with nature trails going into the park. In the city with a great history you can find multiple things to do.
