My wife attended a Baby shower here and she said everything was very nice. It was winter time when she went so all outdoor activities were closed. Most of the place was vacant at the time of the baby shower. Plenty of parking and the area was clean with a snow plow driver clearing up as we arrived.

Excellent food and service for a private party. The beef short ribs in particular were phenomenal.

This as honest and balanced of a review as I can give, in the interest of being fair and appreciative of the work of the NCC staff in the past, while also acknowledging the problems that have been encountered. We had our office holiday party at the NCC venue for three years in a row. The first two, our event coordinator was Colleen, who was very responsive and professional. Everyone at our organization had a great time. The venue is lovely, and the food, tasty. The third year, we were handled by a different coordinator. While cordial, she was just not as responsive and, more than once, I had to chase down communications with her to get things settled. While our employees still enjoyed the event very much and weren't in a position to see the small issues, the space wasn't quite as clean (small pieces of waste on the floor, perhaps from the last event) , and staffing largely disappeared between dinner and dessert. For instance ,I brought two professionally made cakes, but only a small number of slices were ever brought out for dessert (only about enough to serve half of us). It was difficult to find remaining staff to address the issue, and, ultimately, we left without most of the cake being served or returned to us. Not the end of the world, but not expected, either. Because the venue is beautiful and the food is very good, it was worth it to overlook the changes, and we didn't say anything. In January, we communicated our desire to book the same venue for our fourth year in a row for the subsequent holiday season. We were told by the same event coordinator, that she was unable to give us paperwork or take a deposit because they were in the midst of revamping their event procedure for the year. However, I was assured by her that I need not worry because she had held our date/reservation, and would be back in touch with me to complete the process as soon as the procedures were updated. I had no reason to doubt this, as there had been no problems the previous three years. Fast forward to the middle of May, Aamost halfway through the year. I was contacted by Colleen to let me know that the procedures had been updated and the policy changed. In essence, the room that we had used for three years was now largely inaccessible to small groups due to a greatly increased minimum price. While Colleen did not say that our room had been given away, nor was it offered to us for the same date at the higher price, raising question as to whether it had been held as promised, even to give us a right of first refusal. She offered to move us from upstairs to downstairs to space which would have involved us all having a cocktail hour in a closed bar room, and then having to move to a smaller private room through their restaurant. This wasn't as nice, and just doesn't work for us. While, technically, we had not signed an updated agreement and given a deposit, this is only because we were told that we didn't have to worry about it because they were updating procedures. But, clearly, there had been more going on. And, while, technically, NCC did not violate an agreement, because there was none in writing, they could have made the decision to let us know what they were actually doing months ahead of time, instead of allowing us to think that our space was held. That is really the largest complaint. They knew what they were in the process of, were not transparent, and by not disclosing until May, they have left us in the unfortunate position of having many attractive venues already booked for the holiday season. Completely unnecessary to do, and not considerate. I think that NCC is a beautiful venue. And Colleen was always an asset in my interactions with her. We had a wonderful two events, and a third event which was definitely overall adequate. And others may have a different experience. But this is my experience, for whatever help it may or may not be to others.

The Lehigh Valley cancer society held an Appreciation Luncheon for the Boutique at the Rink volunteers. Lovely venue with an outstanding meal. Staff was a little overwhelmed with the large group, but all did a wonderful job.
