South Hills Golf & Country Club: South Hills

My husband and I attended the Young at Heart event here in May. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our dinner was delicious and drinks were great.

We were here for an alumni work outing. The course was beautiful. The outing was well organized, and the staff very friendly. The dinner at the end was delicious!

The place is beautiful, but don’t let that fool you. They are so unorganized and unprofessional when it comes to the main events. They had made changes last minute for the wedding and claimed they never said certain things that were made for the event. For the rehearsal, the coordinator Rebecca was shuttled back to her car prior to the end of the rehearsal and final payment. On the day of, the pro shop person claimed that the groomsmen sprayed beer all over the locker room they were in. Rebecca made the accusation to the bride and groom without any investigation into the claim. She didn’t go into the locker room to see if it smelled like beer or if anything was wet. When confronted, she told the bride and groom that “as far as she knows there is no damage and she’s just following up on what she heard” while in the hallway of the locker rooms. Additionally, the bar was unorganized and put other peoples tabs on the final bill after the event when there were tabs still open. Some of the members of the event were still there and nothing was said to them that there were unpaid drinks. After all the money spent here, you would think they would be more customer service friendly. If they aren’t friendly to outside guests, then maybe they shouldn’t host events outside of the members and continue to stay a private country club for members only.

We attended a wedding here on 10-9-2021. The staff was amazing! They were right there if we needed something. The first place I have gone to in a long time where they were not short staffed (or at least they didn't look like it) and I didn't want to jump behind the bar to help bartend. They all hustled and were very professional. Would highly recommend!

We attended a wedding here this past weekend. The venue is nice and well kept. The staff was polite and attentive, but it may have been the worst wedding meal I've had. The meal was buffet style set up in bar room. They had chicken breat, beef tips, mashed potatoes, rice, and green beans I believe. I didn't grab any chicken, but I heard and saw horror stories. Over 30 guests were served chicken that was raw in center. I choose beef tips over rice. The rice was still crunchy and cold. The best thing on buffet was the mashed potatoes. Then to top it off there was no dessert. The bride and groom ordered cookies and brownies. The country club actually had these items listed on invoice but decided not to order without talking to bride. I feel bad for the bride and groom, this just created distractions on their special day. I have to attend another wedding here this year. I sure hope they can get it together.
