About the club
Founded in 1920, the Country Club of Tuscaloosa is the city’s oldest golf course and one of the oldest in the State of Alabama. Located on 6th street, just west of downtown, the approximately 100-acre golf course borders the Country Club Circle Historical District. Designed by Arthur Davis, the par-72 golf course is 6,368 yards long from the back tees. It has a course and slope rating of 70. 3 and 128 respectively. The course is narrow and is laid out east to west, along the southern banks of the Black Warrior River. The course plays over gently rolling terrain with elevated greens and various water hazards. Much of the front nine is enclosed by trees while the back nice is more open. There are six lakes on the property and approximately 4,600 feet of river frontage and attractive, unobstructed river views.
