The North course at Gallery Golf Club features plenty of elevation changes and offers beautiful panoramic vistas of the surrounding Sonoran desert landscape. This John Fought/Tom Lehman design just north of Tucson plays through two valleys flanked by imposing mountains. The North course is demanding off the tee with penalizing deep-faced bunkers lining most fairways.

Hmmm….no technology on the carts, no map of the course. For members, probably fine but for resort guests who have never played the course, not so great. Course is in good shape but (very) questionable value for the cost.

Played the Gallery Golf Club today. Overall I thought the course was in great shape. Tee boxes, fairways, bunkers and greens were all excellent except for a couple small areas. However, when we went into the restaurant for a beverage after our round I was a little disappointed. After ordering a couple beers, I noticed a "Service Charge" was added to my bill. I paid it and moved on. I then saw the restaurant manager and asked her what the "Service Charge" was for. She stated that it was a tip. I then said to her, "so then tipping is mandatory here? She responded with a firm "yes, tipping is mandatory". I have to say I was a little surprised. For some reason I always thought tips were a result of good service. So I definitely recommend playing the Gallery Golf Club but definitely check you bill if you go into the restaurant.
