About the club

The Capital Golf Club near Melbourne was the brainchild of Australian entrepreneur Lloyd Williams and designed by five-time Open Champion Peter Thomson. Located near the great clutch of sandbelt courses southwest of the city, for many the finest group of courses to be found anywhere, the Capital has earned the right to be in such august company. The club is privately owned, so play is strictly by invitation. No expense has been spared to produce an outstanding course in majestic surroundings. Every facility, from the driving range and pitching and putting greens to the locker rooms and halfway house, is superb. The course caters to all standards of play, with a variety of tees and generous fairways, plenty of hazards and greens that command respect. Amid the many great Melbourne-area courses near Melbourne, an invitation to Capital is not to be missed. The effort will be well worthwhile.
