About the club

The splendid nature of Elanora becomes apparent the moment you pass within the imposing entrance that leads to the clubhouse, which is set on high ground looking out over the beaches in the north of Sydney. With greens that are quick and holes that can be hard to read, the course is a draw for the many excellent players who dwell north past the Harbour Bridge. Dan Soutar laid out the Elanora in the decade after World War I, and James Wilcher carried out renovations in 2004. Tree-lined fairways lend the course a wilderness ambience. Though relatively short by today's standards at 6246 meters, these holes are nevertheless a challenge for good players who want to keep to their handicap. Play for non-members is by invitation only, and invitations are not to be passed up; and those willing to put a few dollars behind their game will likely be accommodated.
