Situated on a broad curve in the Brisbane River, the East Course forms part a complex of 36 holes, 9 of which are constructed on a reclaimed dump, though they are indistinguishable from the others. Six course combinations can be put together from the four nine-hole stretches known as the Blue, Gold, Green and Red runs. The Blue and Green make up the East; the former has less bunkering, but what there is is cleverly situated; and indeed the signature 8th is without bunkers. The nine on the old dump make up the slightly longer Green. And while the location might seem unpromising, there is no better course so near Brisbane, especially with regard to amenities that include a mobile shelter for practice during the occasionally overpowering sun or rain and a quite spacious clubhouse that has just received a major renovation to the tune of 3,000,000 Australian dollars.nd a spacious clubhouse that has just been renovated to the tune of 3 million Australian dollars.
