About the club
A leading designer of the 1920s, Alex Russell, laid out the course, and renovations were carried out by Sloan Morpeth in the 1960s and by Michael Clayton three decades later. The course, which borders on Point Nepean National Park, is set amid undulating dunes with lovely vistas of Port Philip Bay. Though not particularly large, the clubhouse, offers a lovely view of the holes and the landscape. The course itself is also somewhat small, at 6000 meters, but it is challenging, especially because of wind, so players will use every club. The par 5s can generally be reached in two, and the shortest par 4s allow plentiful chances for birdies. The undulating fairways offer great scenery and, thanks to couch grass, a great surface throughout the year, while the greens are quick. A golfer could be happy playing just this course, though play here is limited to club members and guests.
