Royal Canberra Golf Club - Westbourne
About the club
Royal Canberra club was established as far back as 1926, but was moved to the location it now occupies in 1962. Situated as it is among the various European and native trees that are the pride of the Westbourne Woods Arboretum, the course is home to plenty of wildlife, so you just might find yourself playing for an audience of kangaroos. The adjacent Lake Burley Griffin adds still more beauty to the landscape. There are no curveballs to be found here, just rolling fairways that make their way up to raised greens. The course takes full advantage of doglegs and deep grass to create a true test. With a length of 6357 meters, the stage is set for when the champions come to play, but mere mortals can take advantage of the nice variety of shorter tees. The Royal Canberra is open, and well maintained, all seasons of the year.
