About the club
The initial plan for the Royal Pines Club called for two full eighteen-hole courses, but when houses claimed more land than expected, three series of nine holes each were created instead and dubbed the Gold, the Green and the Blue. The Nerang River bounds the Gold, and further water is provided by lakes, fresh and salt. The Green, closer to the development, nevertheless features abundant native flora. Large bunkers, narrow fairways, rolling greens and lurking hazards all call for careful play. The Gold and Green combine for an off-the-sticks length of 6570 meters, plenty for any championship. The outstanding 18th hole has been witness to some great finishes, for instance deciding the Australian Ladies Masters champion several times over the past two decades The remarkable and imposing three-sided clubhouse is a well-known landmark in the area. The facilities leave nothing to be desired and the course is impeccably maintained.
