The Grange Golf Club - West Course
About the club
The two great courses at the Grange Golf Club in southern Australia's popular seaside suburb of Seaton were built in an area unfit for farming. Both required some time to take shape. First to be constructed was the West, which dates to the interwar period; the course was then reconfigured by designer Vernon Morcom in 1950; Jack Newton carried out further renovations late in the 1980s; and in 2006 all 18 of the greens were replaced by Michael Clayton. Despite the absence of water hazards, the course's great blend of excellently cared for doglegs and straight holes presents a fine challenge for players at every skill level. Golfers seeking superb accommodations can room at the neighboring Lakes Resort Hotel, or go a little further to the Stamford Grand Adelaide. The club demonstrated its ambition to become one of the region's premier courses when it hosted the World Amateur Teams Championships in 2008.
