About the club
The history of golf here goes back to 1927, well before Perth's urban sprawl precluded enlargement of the course during renovations in recent years. Nevertheless, even at 5790 meters, the course still remains a challenge for top pros, and it garnered even more respect from Graham Marsh's hand in the restoration. Even if Marsh's supreme achievement is to be found at the nearby Vines, his bunkers here are unmatched, and could easily be mistaken for those of Alister MacKenzie. In addition, the region enjoys some of the best weather in Australia, at least in summer, when the sunny warm days are tempered by winds off the ocean in the afternoons, as well as the kind of sandy soil that underlies the world's top courses. These benefits are all enjoyable with in the context of a classic Australian course, with ample space off the tees and excellent sculpted greens and defensive bunkers.
