About the club
This 6300-meter par 72 championship course was designed by Perry Dye, eldest son of Pete Dye and host of the 2009 Kärnten Open, a Challenge Tour event. Dye started with featureless farmland, but made up for it with imaginative changes in elevation, mounding and water that make for an intriguing round of golf. There is an American feel to the course, but it does not detract from the aesthetics; here stands of trees in most directions add real pleasure to a round. The clearest evidence of Dye's hand is his trademark island green in the middle of the front nine. But Dye might be a little disappointed with the condition these days; through seemingly unwise financial management the course is now owned by the Alpe Adria Bank, though there is talk of seeking a buyer who would hopefully do a better job; but it still offers a pleasant short diversion.
