About the club

Winge is what specialists call a quality course. This true parkland was designed in 1988 by Peter Townsend who came up with a very imaginative layout, with some holes more open than others but all of them offering a good variety in length and difficulty. Locals will tell you that the key to a successful round here lies in the way you play the second shot... providing you're smart enough to place your drive neatly on the fairway. The greens, which are partially responsible for the excellent reputation of this course (in 1988, an architect specialized in the design of greens was hired) are well defended, mainly with sand-traps, and water hazards on 2 holes. Having said that, the difficulties are certainly not insurmountable as long as you produce good, sterling, accurate golf (including on the greens). Winge is a unique and exciting course with no room for indifference. As of 2011, Winge Golf belongs to the same group as Damme Golf and this resulted in different new investments, of which the new clubhouse trucly the flagship. This new clubhouse, designed by the prestigious architects Robbrecht en Daem, make this club worthwhile visiting.
