About the club

Dennis and Susy Durkin purchased the 550-acre parcel in 1991 and were convinced they could build a first-class recreational community – complete with a championship 18-hole golf course, swimming & tennis facility and guest accommodations. Even though Bailey Creek is a daily fee course, you will receive “country club” treatment. The Durkin familiy has set out to make Bailey Creek a place where you relax in a unique, comfortable setting and enjoy the friendliest service they can offer. This combination makes Bailey Creek an experience like no other. Flint’s stepson Art Strain is a world-class golf course shaper who has worked with top designers like Tom Fazio. Art has moved more than 500,000 cubic yards of dirt to construct the newest and most exciting course to come to Northern California in recent years – Bailey Creek at Lake Almanor. The credentials of Homer Flint, Bailey Creek’s Course architect are impressive. He has been involved with more than 50 golf courses including: Mauna Kea, Mauna Lani and Kapalua in Hawaii, the Phoenician in Arizona, along with Northstar at Tahoe, Plumas Pines and Almanor West. Homer worked with the late Trent Jones, Sr. in the late 1950?s and is a master at creating memorable and challenging holes that blend harmoniously with their surrounding environment. Homer has incorporated a little bit of every course he’s done into Bailey Creek; we consider this our greatest asset.
