About the club
The California Golf Club of San Francisco, also known as Cal Club, was founded in 1918 and originally started as a 9-hole course on the shores of Lake Merced. The course was expanded to 18 holes and relocated to its present location in South San Francisco in 1924. Over the years, it underwent multiple renovations, with the latest in 2007, conducted by Kyle Phillips . The club is private, and access to the course is restricted to members and their guests. The club is also known to host various charity events and tournaments.
