Sandpiper Golf Course

About the club

Sandpiper Golf Club: A Coastal Gem for Golf Enthusiasts Nestled along the beautiful coast of Santa Barbara, California, Sandpiper Golf Club has established itself as one of the premier golf destinations in the state. Offering breathtaking views, impeccable greens, and top-notch amenities, this club has become a haven for golfers looking to enjoy a challenging round of golf while relishing in the coastal beauty. Founded in 1972, Sandpiper Golf Club has a rich history that spans almost five decades. Designed by the renowned William F. Bell, the course was built to take full advantage of the magnificent ocean views and the surrounding natural landscape. Since its inception, the club has hosted numerous professional and amateur tournaments, solidifying its reputation as a true championship course. One of the key milestones in Sandpiper's history came in 1995 when it underwent an extensive renovation under the guidance of architect Robert Muir Graves. The refurbishment added a new dimension to the course, enhancing its playability while maintaining the inherent challenges of the original design. As a result, Sandpiper Golf Club has been consistently ranked among the top courses not only in California but also across the country. When it comes to comparing Sandpiper Golf Club to other notable golf courses around the country, the club undeniably holds its ground. While many courses may boast of picturesque scenery or challenging layouts, few can rival the unique combination of coastal beauty, exceptional course design, and top-tier facilities that Sandpiper offers. The club has two distinct nines that cater to golfers of all skill levels. The front nine, with its sprawling fairways and strategic bunkering, provides an enjoyable experience even for beginners. The back nine, on the other hand, offers a more demanding test of a golfer's skills, with narrow fairways, well-placed hazards, and undulating greens that require precision and finesse.
