The mysterious and towering Jade Dragon Snow Mountain gives has given its name to this stupendous club, which is located near the old town of Lijiang. The course is threaded along an alpine expanse at 10,000 feet above sea level; perhaps no other course in the world counts oxygen tanks among the amenities in its carts. The incredible 8500-yard length of the course matches the scale of the elevation. On the other hand, the thin air does facilitate monster drives; still, less skilled players should probably start from the forward tees. Particularly imposing among the holes here is the signature 5th; at over 711 yards, this may be the lengthiest par 5 anywhere in golf. A challenging stretch of doglegs, set amid the evergreens, make the back nine a particular joy. The Jade Dragon may be remote, but it's worth the trek for an utterly unique golfing experience.
