About the club

Mark Hollinger laid out this course not too far from the lovely, millennia-old city of Hangzhou amid scenery that is unsurpassed in China's northeast reaches. Framed by the lake from which the course takes its name and the Hunan Mountains, this course plays out amid abundant water and absolutely stunning landscaping that make for an unforgettable experience. The membership includes some of the area's tycoons, but the course itself is semi-private, and non-members can on any day of the week enjoy these surroundings and a clubhouse that provides for everything a player might want before and after a round. The challenge here comes not from the fairly ample fairways but from the lengthy carries demanded by all that water. The greens are elegantly contoured and defended by carefully positioned bunkers. Especially memorable among many memorable holes is the 17th, where even skilled players will count themselves luck to make par.
