About the club
The Fundadores Course opened in 1950, but it has recently attracted such international events as the PGA Nationwide Tour (2010, the first time that venue has come to Colombia) and Samsung's Rubiales Bogota Open (2012), as well as the Club Columbia Masters (2007-2009). Designer John van Kleeck laid out this nicely proportioned course on a fine, quite level piece of ground in the heart of Colombia's capital city, where the elevation is over 8500 feet. Players at all skill levels will enjoy the course, but it is not without its challenges, and even good players can expect to lose a few balls to the abundant water hazards and grapple with well-defended greens. Upkeep at the Fundadores is excellent, and among the amenities are a recently renovated clubhouse, a practice area with putting and pitching greens, and an exceedingly professional and attentive staff ready to cater to golfers from the US and Britain.
