Norman Course at Red Sky Golf Club

About the club

There is a lot of relief to the topography of Red Sky Ranch and Golf Club in Wolcott, Colorado. Nearly every hole has tee boxes that are raised to some extent, and there are some long forced carries. Greg Norman designed the course, so there are lots of bunkers, though maybe not as many as he usually goes for. The fairways are slanted either uphill or downhill or both in both directions. Wooded areas help to define the layout, and trees are often in play. Water is in play too, though on less than half a dozen holes. The 9th and the closing holes are notable for demanding forced carries from the tee-off. The greens are gently contoured, rather than being undulated like those at Augusta. Owing to the alpine elevation and the raised tees, the course doesn't play as long as you would expect. Guests of nearby hotels are often granted access.
