Holbaek Golf Club
About the club
The club was founded in 1964 as a 9-hole course. The course was designed by Frederik Dreyer and was basically a seaside course where only beach ridges protected lane and fairways towards the Fjord. The location is unique, and Kirsebærholmen is one of the few places in Denmark where you can still find pristine salt marshes, a rich and varied birdlife. In 1993-94, the course was expanded to 18 holes. The last 9 holes were built with a nice view of Kirsebærholmen, Fjord and Tuse Headlands. The holes were designed by Jan Sederholm. The course is relatively short. It is quite flat, but often exhausting because of the prevailing northwest winds into the fjord. There are many lakes and bunkers, and the course requires well-struck and accurate shots. Greens are rich, medium-fast and receptive.
