Simon's Golf Club

About the club

Simon's Golf Club was the only tournament-level course in Denmark when it opened in the mid-Nineties, and it has attracted a number of top competitions. This spacious parkland layout is situated on what were once sparsely wooded agricultural fields surrounding a good-sized lake. There are thus some nice long drives, which are made challenging with carefully situated bunkering. The hazards and greens are well proportioned for a course of 6500 meters. The first layout featured only two nines (A and B), which still serve as the championship composite course, but in 2007 designer Martin Hawtree created an additional nine (C). The three loops are open on different days of the week in order to facilitate upkeep and to limit wear and tear, and together they offer a mix of possibilities for players. The B stretch begins with the par 3 signature hole, right where the lake comes into view.
