The Punta Espada Golf Course at Cap Cana delivers in terms of maintenance, facilities, food and drink, scenery and overall quality, beginning with the welcoming clubhouse and its top notch pro shop and driving range. The carts are even set up with a guide to the current pin positions. The course itself is a recent creation of Jack Nicklaus, who has made the most of a stunning location by the sea. Perhaps the signature hole is the par 3 13th, where the beautiful setting balances the great risk of losing a ball to the ocean. The ample space lends a personal, private feel to golf here, which is part of the reason some players call the course the top in the DR. The adjoining Eden Roc hotel offers luxury accommodations, and dining options including a beach front restaurant (La Palapa) and restaurants specializing in Mediterranean (the Blue at Eden Roc).
