Denarau Golf & Racquet Club

This course is remarkable for the untamed majesty of its setting. The Denarau was laid out early in the Nineties on a collection of islets washed by the tides, and not surprisingly water is in play on most of the holes. Though clearly designed for resort golf, the length of over 6500 meters off the tips is sufficient to challenge the pros. Nevertheless, the design provides ample space for average players to maneuver, so very few will find themselves going for a bath in the ocean. The bunkers are effective and charming, at times being formed to resemble local sea life. Those who run Denarau are anxious to ensure that the club maintains its reputation as the South Pacific's finest; among the fine amenities are supply carts that offer chilled towels to the players. Access is made easy by the proximity of a regional airport and an onsite helipad.
