Lely Resort Golf & Country Club is home to 36 holes of spectacular golf with two distinct open-to-the-public Championship Courses. Flamingo Island, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., features signature hole #5, surrounded by water it is connected only by bridges. The Mustang course by Lee Trevino features 12 lakes, but creates fair play even for the beginner golfer.Both courses are open to the public for golfers of all skill levels and our grill is open for lunch and dinner. The Mustang: An Enjoyable Challenge For All Golfers Lely Resort Golf & Country Club’s par 72, 7,217-yard Mustang layout was crafted by World Golf Hall of Famer Lee Trevino using his experience playing many of the world’s greatest courses during his illustrious professional golf career. Balancing playability with the stunning natural beauty of South Florida’s marshlands, the Mustang course features gently rolling fairways, large greens, and 12 sparkling lakes. With multiple tees on each hole, the Mustang presents an enjoyable challenge to golfers of all abilities. Lely Resort's The Mustang course is a legend in the making. Designed by Lee Trevino, The Mustang adheres to his philosophy that the game should be challenging, yet a fair challenge, for the common golfer. While many of The Mustang’s holes are demanding, they also offer players the opportunity to recover from errant shots. The course opened in 1996, and has since provided thousands of golfers with an extraordinary golfing experience. The Flamingo Island: One of Naples’ Signature Public Golf Courses. Considered among the nation’s premier public courses, Lely Resort's par 72, 7,171-yard Flamingo Island course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr.—one of the game’s great masters. Many of Flamingo Island’s holes feature white sand bunkers outlining perfectly-sculpted hourglass fairways and large, undulating Bermuda grass greens. The surrounding water is plentiful and shimmers iridescent in the tropical sunlight, offering golfers who play Flamingo Island an unforgettable backdrop they won’t soon forget. Designed by one of golf’s most celebrated course architects and opened to the public in 1989, Flamingo Island is the criterion for a Robert Trent Jones, Sr. course. Characterized by extensive sculpting and shaping, expanded greens, abundant water, and multiple teeing stations, the course features an unforgettable signature hole: a par 3, 200-yard Hole 5—a curved and rolling fairway entirely surrounded by shimmering azure water, with bunkers built along one side and two small bridges its only connection to the mainland. As one of Naples’ signature public golf courses, The Flamingo Island is a magical blend of strategic diversity and breathtaking natural beauty. The Classics: Welcome Home. Grand Slam winner Gary Player’s deep reverence for nature and admiration for the great traditional golf courses of the world are reflected in his imaginative design of The Classics, a par 72, 6,714-yard championship layout that serves as the centerpiece to the private Classics Country Club at Lely Resort. Swaying palms and lush tropical vegetation traverse the layout’s undulating fairways and manicured greens, in perfect balance with the surrounding terrain. Private club members enjoy the privilege of not only playing The Classics, but Lely Resort's two magnificent daily fee layouts as well: The Flamingo Island and The Mustang, for 54 holes of sensational golf. Six years after it opened in 1990, The Classics hosted The ACE Classic, a Senior PGA tour event.
