Golf Club Barbaroux

About the club

Located right in the heart of Provence, and somewhat removed from the top tourist destinations of Avignon, Aix, St. Tropez and Cannes. Barbaroux was laid out by the architects Pete and P. B. Dye, père et fils, in 1989. The locale is rugged and hilly, and it took a design team with the imagination of the Dyes to find a way to craft such a superb course on what is, for all its scenery, a less-than-promising setting for golf. The front nine plays across level, park-like lowlands, but the Dyes of course keep things interesting. The back nine, on the other hand, is a real thrill ride that runs up among the surrounding hills and offers breathtaking vistas wherever you look from any of the holes. So don't let the relative remoteness of Barbaroux discourage you from visiting one of the finer courses in the south of France.
