Easily played on foot, this 18-hole course could almost be described as rustic by its initial design. On the model of Northern European golf courses, it is simple without being simplistic and very accessible to beginners, but its slope is not easy and good players often have to show humility. The Brague and the Valmasque are the two rivers that constitute natural obstacles. The course of the Golf Club de Biot La Bastide du Roy is 4604m, par 69. Architects Peter James Gannon and Percy Boomer designed the course so that it is suitable for players of all levels and the beauty of the site is enhanced from the first to the last hole. All along the course, the greens open up an unobstructed view of the village of Biot, the city of glassmakers, a picturesque village clinging to a spur above the valley of the La Brague River.
