Golf International Barriere La Baule - Parcours Diane Barrière-Desseigne
About the club
Created in 1976 in Saint André-des-Eaux, the Golf International Barrière has gradually expanded to become one of the 5 golf courses in France to offer 45 holes. Initially composed of an 18-hole course designed by the British Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas on 60 hectares, the golf course was expanded to 27 holes on 100 hectares in 1994. In 2000, the golf course had 36 holes following renovations by the French architect Michel Gayon. It is from 2001 that the golf course offers 45 holes on 220 hectares which extend over 3 communes: La Baule, Saint André-des-Eaux and Guérande. In 2016, the Barrière International Golf Club celebrates its 40th anniversary and still offers golfing events and federal competitions. During these 40 years, the sporting vocation of the Club has never wavered by hosting national and international events such as the 1978 French Open won by Dale Hayes. The Diane Barrière-Desseigne (Blue) course stretches North over 6197 m. Its layout is reminiscent of American golf courses: numerous bodies of water, vast bunkers and wide, well-defended greens.
