About the club
For his signature course at Les Bordes, designer Robert von Hagge made imaginative use of water in order to introduce a serious challenge into a level site while letting the lay of the land inform the course's strategy. Here at Courson, however, the native trees, brush and grasses are less abundant and varied, so von Hagge has had recourse to large-scale excavation in order to sculpt the ground and to incorporate some eight ponds of varying size, so that all but four of the holes feature water hazards. Four Nines—Le Lilas, L'Orange, Le Noir and Le Vert—comprise the thirty-six holes here, of which the last two combine to form the championship course. Every one of the holes has a distinct setting, and generous fairways and greens. At over 270 acres, the site is sufficiently capacious to house comfortably the Vert+Noir's 6557 meters off the back tees.
