Golf Club Meerbusch e.V.

About the club

The golf course around the historic Röttgenhof in the Büderich district was officially inaugurated on September 1, 1996 ; the golf club, however, has existed ten years longer: the operators fought for almost ten years for the building permit. The then faction of the Greens, represented for the first time in the Meerbusch city council, was skeptical of the project "golf course construction" - for reasons of landscape and nature conservation, as it was officially called. 18 hectares were placed under landscape protection, and a stream flowing through the facility was declared a nature reserve as the home of rare plants and animals. Golf course planner Donald Harradine made a total of eight designs . The initiators never gave up in all these years - and were finally rewarded: On September 1, 1996, the facility was officially inaugurated; From then on the expansion went ahead: clubhouse, changing building, caddy rooms and in 2004 the expansion of the barn. But not only did the facility grow, the number of members also increased. "The 150 founding club members have grown to around 850," says Managing Director Bernhard Lindenbuss, "the tournaments are attractive, club life is lively and with a numerically stable youth the future of the golf park is also secured." Interesting and flexible contribution models from the youth to the senior sector enable anyone interested to learn and practice the sport in a neat and appealing atmosphere.
