Golfclub Eggelstetten

About the club

The nine-hole course of the Eggelstetten golf club, which opened in 1995, is located at the confluence of the Danube and Lech rivers. The gritty base of the alluvium in combination with the humic top layer guarantees abundant grass growth and continual playability of the course (even after periods of rain). An unobstructed view of the Swabian Jura opens up to the north. The nine holes spanning 4,048 metres for men and 3,582 metres for women require a sophisticated strategy for a successful round. On two of the holes the ponds come into play - sometimes on the side and sometimes at the front. In many cases, succumbing to the temptation to approach some of the greens directly is quickly punished by the many thick hedges on the narrow fairways. The 2nd hole, which has been extended to a par 5 now poses a worthy challenge for long hitters. In general, the course can be navigated with ease by opting for well placed shots.
