About the club
Jim Engh’s architecture is all about turning fantasies into realities, and Black Rock delivers on that goal like few others, with some bobsled-run fairways (where one can putt from landing area downhill to the green), rollicking putting surfaces framed by squiggly bunkers and a par-4 11th pinched by towering rock formations that bring to mind a pinball machine. Unusual and controversial (it won Best New Private in 2003 ahead of Friar’s Head and Dallas National), Black Rock is a thrilling round of golf.

I’ve been fortunate to have played this course many many times over the years. I’ve played all over the world at some of the outstanding courses everywhere and I rank the Club at Black Rock in my top 3!!! This is a fantastic and stunning golf course and manicured pristinely! Going back to play in august and September to play! I’m so excited I can’t sleep until then! lol! I also have to give a shout out to the amazing staff from the GM to the Head professional and his assistants along with all the awesome caddies!
